Mount Athos
Mount Athos, called Agios Oros, which means “Holy Mountain”, is a mountain on the peninsula with the same name. The Holy Mountain is inhabited solely by monks It is the most beautiful peninsula in Halkidiki, being a place completely dedicated to prayer.Only men are allowed in this region called “Garden of Virgin”, and the last place visited by women who want to access the Mount Athos is Ouranoupolis, which means the City of Heaven.
